Bak Dor 2 won 5 of the last 7 games at Creekside 1 to squeeze out a close 8-7 victory. Jessica Carr opened the match with one of her two game wins to put
Creekside on the board first, but two-game winners Rundi Culp and Terri Bentzinger helped Bak Dor regain the lead at 3-1. Mike Linetsky then won the first of his two game wins
to cap off a four-game Creekside win streak that put them ahead 5-3, but Bak Dor responded with a four-game streak of their own to go on the hill at 7-5.
Linetsky stopped the bleeding with his win over "Super Mario" Reyes, but Rosalie Breeland followed with her second win on the night to seal the match for Bak Dor.
With the win, Bak Dor evened their record at 2-2 and moved up one spot to 6th place. 5th place Creekside 1 fell to 2-2.
Break Time 1 made a valiant effort to come from behind against Sportsman 1, but a key unforced error cost them dearly as they fell to Sportsman, 8-7. With the score 5-3 in favor
of Sportsman, Chuke "Puppy Upper" Prajapati scratched, giving Break Time's Paul Williams ball-in-hand on the 8-ball. Williams inexplicably powered the 8-ball towards the
corner pocket, where it rattled out and fell into the opposite corner pocket. Break Time was able to win 4 of the next 5 games to tie the score at 7-7, but Chris "The Ripper" Ackler
defeated Ray Arias to give Sportsman the victory.
Regardless of the outcome of this match, the night belonged to Sportsman's Leana "Mississippi Hellcat" Finley. The Hellcat was unstoppable as she broke-and-ran her first game,
table ran her second game, and nearly broke-and-ran her third game. Her 45 points moved her up to 1st place in A Division. Despite the win, Sportsman 1 (4-0) fell out of a
2nd place tie with Monty's 2 and into 3rd place. 4th place Break Time 1 dropped to 2-2.
The Moose Lodge played possum on Tuesday, coming alive in the last four games to steal an 8-7 victory away from Cliff Room 1. The two teams traded wins through the first 6 games, but after
Dave Clark won his third game, Cliff Room held a commanding 7-4 lead. Bear Hernandez, Jorge Guerrero, Sebastian Aldana, and Juan Manzo then posted four straight wins for the Moose Lodge to
complete the comeback. 10th place Cliff Room 1 (0-4) continued their miserable start to the season. 8th place Moose Lodge evened their record at 2-2.
1st place Don Q's 1 (4-0) won the first seven games of the match and easily defeated Cliff Room 3 by a score of 13-2. Don Q's captain Jim Holloway led all scorers with three wins and a table run.
Teammate Robert Rosa won his three games, and is now the only undefeated player in the league. Larry Smith also had three wins for Don Q's. Chris Smith won both games for
11th place Cliff Room 3 (0-4).
2nd place Monty's 2 (4-0) won the first five games at Tiburon and cruised to an easy 13-2 victory. Jim Steele, Andres Cortes, and Mundo Burques all had three wins for Monty's.
Kevin Rehak and Alex Balanda salvaged the two Tiburon game wins. Last place Tiburon fell to 0-4.
Brandon Teris had a monster night for Cliff Room 2 in their 9-6 victory over visiting Carp Billiards. Teris had three wins, including one table run and one break-and-run.
Captain Jack Poet also had a break-and-run. Three game winner Colin Clayton helped Carp Billiards keep the match close, but with the score tied at 2-2, Cliff Room won 4 of 5 and
were not threatened thereafter. With the win, Cliff Room 2 evened their record at 2-2 and moved up one spot to 7th place. Carp Billiards (0-4) fell to last place with the loss.
Old Town Tavern fell behind 6-1 at home against Creekside 2 and could not recover, eventually losing by a final of 11-4. Jacob Viani and Keith Gruel both had three wins for
Creekside 2 (1-3), who moved out of the B Division cellar and into 10th place with the win. Marty Schwind had two wins for Old Town Tavern (2-2). Old Town fell two spots to 8th place.
In a battle between the top two teams in B Division, a costly brain fart proved fatal for Don Q's 2 in their 8-7 loss at Cliff Room 4. Two-game winners Maurice Elias and Fahim Azizi
put Cliff Room ahead 2-0, but five games later, Don Q's 2 had Cliff Room 4 in their rear-view mirror, leading 5-2. Cliff Room was able to win three of the next four games to close the
gap to 6-5. That's when things got dicey. Don Q's Ken Hilton missed an easy 8-ball shot against Azizi, but Azizi scratched on his attempt at the 8-ball. Hilton, thinking that
Azizi has conceded the match, picked up the 8-ball, rather than pocketing it. Cliff Room called "foul", and after a lengthy discussion with league officials, it was agreed that the two should replay the game.
Meanwhile, the match continued, and Cliff Room was able to win two of the next three games to tie the score at 7-7. That left the match to be decided by the Azizi-Hilton replay.
In the replay, Azizi took no chances and table ran Hilton, giving Cliff Room the victory. With the win, Cliff Room 4 remained undefeated at 4-0 and moved into 1st place. Don Q's 2
was led by two-game winners Steve Myers and Ismael Huerta. This was the first loss of the season for Don Q's 2 (3-1), who fell two spots to 3rd place.
Phil Beach moved into first place in B Division with three wins and a break-and-run, leading Monty's 3 to a huge 13-2 victory at home against Endless Summer.
Nick Conforti and Adam Priddy kept Endless Summer in the match with their early wins, but Monty's 3 eventually brought out the sledgehammer, winning the last 9 games to win going away.
Dean Tokumaru and Todd Knudsen also had three wins for 5th place Monty's 3 (3-1). 9th place Endless Summer fell to 1-3.
4th place Break Time 5 improved to 3-1 with an 11-4 win over visiting Sportsman 2. Kate Williams got Sportsman on the board first, but Break Time won the next 5 games and never looked back.
Brian Purrington and Mike Rys powered the Break Time offense with three wins each. Derrick Craig led Sportsman with two wins. Winless Sportsman 2 (0-4) fell to 11th place.
Old King's Road 1 kept their record spotless with a 9-6 victory over home rival Old King's Road 2. Three-game winner Pete Conover helped OKR 1 jump out to a 4-0 lead that OKR 2 could not overcome.
Ian Cox and captain Eric Kaiser both had two wins to pace OKR 2. Old King's Road 1 (4-0) moved up one spot to 2nd place. Old King's Road 2 (2-2) fell to 7th place.
Captain Bob Freed had three wins to lead his Break Time 2 squad to a thrilling 8-7 come-from-behind win at Monty's 1. Three-game winner Joe Mesa helped Monty's 1
jump out to a 3-0 lead, but Break Time battled back to pull within a game at 4-3. Monty's then won 3 of the next 4 games to go on the hill at 7-4, but Break Time
won the last four games to snatch away the victory. Break Time 2 (2-2) moved up to 6th place with the win, while Monty's 1 (1-3) dropped to 9th place with the loss.
