A Division


Don Q's 2 [9] at Break Time 4 [6]view score sheet
Chris Atkins and Ken Hilton both went 3-for-3, powering 5th place Don Q's 2 (10-4) to a 9-6 upset win over Break Time 4.   After falling behind 3-0, Break Time was able to tie the score at 3-3, but Don Q's won 5 of the next 6 games to clinch the victory.   Luis and Martin Hernandez had two wins each to lead Break Time.   The loss dropped Break Time 4 (12-2) back into 2nd place behind idle Sportsman 1.

Cliff Room 4 [7] at Cliff Room 3 [8]view score sheet
Donald Jordan had three wins, including the match-clinching win, as Cliff Room 3 won an exciting 8-7 match against hometown rival Cliff Room 4.   Javier Solis had three wins for Cliff Room 4 to keep them in the match, but Cliff Room 3 had just enough gas in the tank to hold on for victory.   11th place Cliff Room 3 improved to 3-11.   12th place Cliff Room 4 fell to 1-13.

Monty's 1 [12] at Creekside 2 [3]view score sheet
4th place Monty's 1 improved their impressive record to 10-3 with a 12-3 win at Creekside 2.   This match was quickly decided after Monty's rolled in wins in 8 of the first 9 games.   Kez Gillatt and Mundo Burques combined for six Monty's game wins.   Andrew Wood had two of the three Creekside wins.   9th place Creekside 2 fell to 5-9.

Brewco Lounge 1 [4] at Don Q's 1 [11]view score sheet
3rd place Don Q's 1 (11-3) blew and early 4-1 lead, but they finished the match with seven straight wins to post an 11-4 victory at home against Brewco Lounge 1.   Don Q's anchor Brent Boone finished the opening frame with a break-and-run that gave Don Q's a 4-1 advantage.   Brewco's lone win in that frame was a Tony Allred table run.   Allred followed with his second win of the night, sparking Brewco to a three-game streak that tied the score at 4-4.   It was all Don Q's after that.   Boone and Robert Rosa led Don Q's with three wins each.   Rosa's last win was his fourth table run of the season.   10th place Brewco Lounge 1 fell to 4-10.

Creekside 1 [5] at Endless Summer [10]view score sheet
6th place Endless Summer (9-5) jumped out to a huge lead against Creekside 1, then held on during a furious Creekside comeback to post a 10-5 victory.   Three-game winner Kyle Hubert helped Endless Summer pull away to an early 7-1 lead, but Mark Weingartner got a table run and Ricardo Topete won his second game to cap a four-game streak that brought the score to 7-5.   Hubert then ended the suspense with his third win, the match clincher.   8th place Creekside 1 fell to 5-9.

Roundin Third 2 [5] at Sportsman 2 [10]view score sheet
Sportsman's Derrick Craig and Sam Auchincloss were both perfect in a 10-5 home win against Roundin Third 2.   Sportsman took control of the match early, winning the first three games and 6 of the first 8.   Nick Lamb and Eddie Gonzales ended the second frame with wins to close the gap to 6-4, but Sportsman took the next three games to nail down the victory.   Gonzales finished off his night with a break-and-run.   7th place Sportsman 2 evened their record at 7-7.   Last place Roundin Third 2 fell to 1-13.

B Division


Break Time 2 [3] at Moose Lodge 2 [12]view score sheet
Moose Lodge 2 came out on fire against visiting Break Time 2, winning the first 8 games, cruising to a 12-3 victory.   Chuy Martinez and Juan Manzo led the Moose with three wins each.   Ed Ogden, Dennis Nupdal, and Paul Kouns had one win each for 11th place Break Time 2 (4-11).   With the win, 7th place Moose Lodge 2 (9-6) remains one match behind 6th place Brewco Lounge 2.

Break Time 5 [13] at Tiburon Tavern [2]view score sheet
3rd place Break Time 5 (12-3) flexed their muscles at Tiburon on Tuesday, winning easily by a 13-2 score.   Ed Martin, Mike Rys, and Brian Purrington combined for 9 of the 13 Break Time game wins.   Stuart Kane and Josette DeSoto scored the lone Tiburon wins.   With the win, Break Time keeps pace with the B Division front-runners as they head into a critical match against 4th place Cliff Room 1.   13th place Tiburon Tavern fell to 2-13.

Carp Billiards 1 [3] at Cliff Room 1 [12]view score sheet
Gene Manriquez and Pat Wieser combined for six wins to lead host Cliff Room 1 to an easy 12-3 victory against Carp Billiards 1.   Cliff Room opened an early 3-0 lead and were in command throughout the match.   Chad Murphy, Phil Nunez, and James Maertens had one win each for Carp Billiards (5-10), who fell to 10th place with the loss.   With the win, 4th place Cliff Room 1 (11-4) remains one match behind their next week's opponent, 3rd place Break Time 5.

Cliff Room 2 [11] at Roundin Third 1 [4]view score sheet
1st place Cliff Room 2 wasted no time defeating host Roundin Third 1, winning 8 of the first 10 games, and improving their record to 14-1.   Cliff Room's Maurice Elias and Jim Zambelli led all scorers with three wins each.   Joe Mitchell accounted for half of Roundin Third's four wins.   With the loss, Roundin Third 1 (5-10) fell to 9th place.

Monty's 2 [8] at Monty's 3 [7]view score sheet
Twice, 5th place Monty's 3 (10-5) came from behind to tie the score against 2nd place Monty's 2 (13-2), but each time Monty's 2 responded with big game wins as they edged Monty's 3 by an 8-7 margin.   Two-game winners Alfonso Lazaro, Ismael Huerta and Rigo Morales helped Monty's 2 build early leads of 3-1 and 6-3.   Three-game winner Phil Beach had his first table run of the season, and he sparked two Monty's 3 win streaks that tied the score at 3-3 and 6-6.   Captain Lazaro put Monty's 2 ahead 7-6 with his win over Monty's 3 captain Debbie Beach, and Huerta dealt the death blow with his break-and-run in game 14.  

Moose Lodge 1 [7] at Brewco Lounge 2 [8]view score sheet
Moose Lodge 1 came back from an early 3-1 deficit and matched host Brewco Lounge 2 blow for blow, but in the end, Brewco was one game better.   Don Perkins' three wins were the difference for 6th place Brewco Lounge 2 (10-5).   Juan Magana had his first three-win night of the season for last-place Moose Lodge 1 (1-14), but it wasn't quite enough.  

Old Town Tavern [6] at Bak Dor 2 [9]view score sheet
Host Bak Dor 2 squandered early leads of 3-0 and 5-1, but with the help of three-game winner Bob McLean, Bak Dor was able to win the last three games and pull away to a 9-6 victory against Old Town Tavern.   When Old Town captain Jay Younger posted his third win of the night, Old Town had battled back to tie the score at 6-6.   That was as close as they got, as Rosalie Breeland and Rikki Byers sealed the Bak Dor victory with back-to-back wins.   With the win, Bak Dor 2 (6-9) jumps up two spots to 8th place.   12th place Old Town Tavern fell to 3-12.
