4th place Monty's 1 (14-4) completed the season-sweep of 5th place Don Q's 2 (12-6), winning 9-6.   Chris Atkins got his first of three game wins to give Don Q's an early 2-0 lead, but two match-tying game wins by Ernesto Sanchez (the second a break-n-run) swung the momentum in Monty's favor.   Monty's entered the beer frame with a four-game win streak and were sitting on the hill, 7-4.   Atkins' table run in game 12 closed the gap to 7-5, but Gerardo Guerrero answered with a win over Nick Testa to seal the victory for Monty's.

Brewco Lounge 2 [8] at Cliff Room 1 [7]view score sheet
4th place Cliff Room 1 was playing without team-leader David Clark, and it may have cost them as they dropped a heart-breaker, 8-7, to visiting Brewco Lounge 2.   This was the second time this season that Cliff Room lost 8-7 to Brewco.   Unlike the first match where Brewco took an early 6-2 lead, this time Cliff Room had a 6-2 lead after eight games.   Three-game winner Ian Cox then kicked off a six-game Brewco run that gave them the come-from-behind victory.   This was a critical win for 7th place Brewco Lounge 2 (12-8).   A loss would have virtually eliminated any chance at making the playoffs.   Cliff Room 1 now shares the same record (13-7) as 5th place Monty's 3 and 6th place Moose Lodge 2.   The Moose will host Cliff Room next week.

Cliff Room 2 [12] at Moose Lodge 1 [3]view score sheet
1st place Cliff Room 2 (19-1) clinched a playoff spot with their 12-3 win at Moose Lodge 1.   Jon Almasco led Cliff Room with three wins and a table run.   Teammates Maurice Elias, Jim Zambelli, and Paul Lacey also had three wins each.   Coco Padilla, Mike Perez, and Frank Meza accounted for the three wins for last place Moose Lodge 1 (1-19).

Monty's 2 [13] at Break Time 2 [2]view score sheet
2nd place Monty's 2 took no mercy on 11th place Break Time 2, winning 13-2.   Team leader Ismael Huerta had three wins and a break-n-run, George Guerrero and Alfonso Lazaro had three wins and a table run, and Rigo Morales had three wins for Monty's.   Ed Ogden and Dennis Nupdal scratched out the lone Break Time game wins.   Monty's 2 improved to 17-3, while Break Time 2 fell to 7-13.

Moose Lodge 2 [11] at Tiburon Tavern [4]view score sheet
With an 11-4 victory at Tiburon Tavern, 6th place Moose Lodge 2 (13-7) kept pace with 4th place Cliff Room 1 and 5th place Monty's 3, who are also sitting at 13-7.   This match was over early as the Moose stampeded to wins in 8 of the first 9 games.   Mario Reyes and Sebastian Aldana led the Moose Lodge with a combined six wins.   Craig Keefer and Clint Dibala split the four Tiburon game wins.   13th place Tiburon Tavern fell to 2-18.

Old Town Tavern [5] at Carp Billiards 1 [10]view score sheet
Carp Billiards (8-12) jumped from 10th to 8th place with a 10-5 home win against Old Town Tavern.   After Carp Billiards opened up a 5-1 lead, Old Town, led by two-game winners Jay Younger and Aaron Liskovich, won 4 of 5 to close the gap to 6-5.   Carp Billiards won the remaining four games to stop the Old Town threat.   All five Carp players had two wins.   12th place Old Town Tavern fell to 4-16.

Roundin Third 1 [4] at Monty's 3 [11]view score sheet
Monty's 3 won the first five games and had their match against visiting Roundin Third 1 sewn up before the beer frame.   Monty's was led by three-game winner Jim Steele.   Teammate Phil Beach opened his night with his first break-n-run of the season.   Josh Salvador had two wins to pace Roundin Third 1.   With the win, 5th place Monty's 3 joins Cliff Room 1 and Moose Lodge 2 at 13-7.   Roundin Third 1 (7-13) fell one spot to 10th place.

Bak Dor 2 [5] at Break Time 5 [10]view score sheet
With the score tied 2-2, host Break Time 5 won five games in a row, including three table runs, to take a commanding 7-2 lead.   Two-game winners Daniel Drnavich and Bob McLean helped Bak Dor mount a comeback, but with the score 7-5, Break Time won the final three games to finish out the 10-5 victory.   Mike Rys had three wins and one of the Break Time table runs.   Teammates Brian Purrington and Bob Pastor had the other two table runs.   3rd place Break Time 5 upped their record to 16-4.   8th place Bak Dor 2 fell to 8-12.
